"What I am about to say may seem controversial, but if you look closely, you can see my sincerity. No one is coming to save anyone; rather, we have to save ourselves. In this world, everyone is in a race—to the top or to the bottom—you have to choose which direction you want to go. You can change the tide, be swept away by it, or be the tide; the choice is yours."
Ayman Latif
In the past two decades, numerous Arab-speaking countries, and other than that have endured unimaginable hardships due to war and economic collapse. Nations such as Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Sudan, and most recently, Palestine, particularly Gaza, have been ravaged by conflict. This devastation has created an urgent need for the people in these regions to rebuild and advance in various fields—technology, science, architecture, medicine, and more. However, much of the knowledge and resources necessary for this advancement are available primarily in English, the dominant global language.
Recognizing this, We Speak Motivation was founded with a mission to empower individuals from these war-torn regions to overcome the barriers they face. English is not just a language; it’s a key to unlocking opportunities, rebuilding communities, and driving positive change.
The founder’s personal journey further underscores this mission. After struggling for years to learn Arabic, he quit his job in 2008 to study the language in Egypt. As a convert to Islam for over 25 years, having accepted it while serving in the Marine Corps, his life has been deeply shaped by the diverse cultures and people he encountered. His experiences in learning, traveling, and connecting with others have made him culturally diverse and empathetic to the challenges people face across the globe. He believes that communication is the glue that binds communities together, and through We Speak Motivation, he aims to help others find their voice in English and use it to improve their lives
